Things to Do

Bonnet House Museum & Gardens was donated by Evelyn Fortune Bonnet to the Florida Trust for Historic Preservation in the ’80s. The Caribbean-style plantation home, built in 1920, has been preserved along with 35-acres of native Florida habitat, including mangrove wetlands, beaches, and indigenous forests. Visitors can enjoy the museum, gardens, and art galleries on this carefully preserved property.

South Florida is a fisherman’s dream. With the area’s abundant rivers, waterways, and ocean, there is freshwater and saltwater fishing galore. Either on the dock, pier, beach, or boat–fishing is plentiful everywhere.

One of the most prestigious golf courses is the Fort Lauderdale Country Club with 36 holes of championship golf. Established in 1926, its two courses include plenty of native flora and tree-lined fairways.

There are many notable museums to visit in Fort Lauderdale, but the NSU Arts Museum is a local favorite.  The museum offers a variety of exhibitions, art education opportunities, outdoor art displays, and films.

Schools

Ft. Lauderdale has many highly accredited schools to choose from.
